On Wednesday, October 12th, the Tennessee Chapter hosted a joint technical committee meeting of the AFS Coreless and Channel Induction Furnace Committees. The event was held at the Westin Downtown Chattanooga with over 40 people in attendance. Topics were mostly focused on coreless and channel induction melting; however general foundry industry topics were also discussed. The following companies offered technical insight speaking at the meeting: Ajax, Saveway, Allied Minerals, Strickland Trading, ProFound Alloys, Waupaca, Reno Refractories, and Washington Mills. To conclude the event, attendees toured Mueller – Chattanooga on the morning of October 13th. The coreless and channel induction furnace committees would like to give a “BIG THANKS” to the Tennessee Chapter for hosting this event.
